Vienna based agency Himmer, Buchheim & Partner approached us to create 4 animated spots for TV and movie theaters matching their newly launched campain for the Austrian daily newspaper “Der Standard”. Creative Director Eva Buchheim and her team provided us a great concept to work with and it was a blast to bring the simple but yet adorable designs to life.

Based on the vector illustrations we did the character animation in Adobe Flash and created the environment in Adobe After Effects. The newspaper itself was requested to be a real footage element, so we did a 2 day stop-motion shoot in house to get the necessary style and footage for our final product.

The three TV spots were first aired in August 2008 on Austria’s broadcast station ORF. The extended version for movie theatres premiered in September 2008 and is shown across Austria.
