MIDEM Austria Sounds Great
MIDEM is the world’s largest music industry trade fair, which takes place annually at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, since 1967.
Strukt was asked to design the austrian booth, from the selection of the furniture to the creation of an interactive exhibit showcasing the austrian music scene.
The main focus was to create a meeting place that reflects the style of Austria‘s contemporary product design. Furniture of designers like Rainer Mutsch, wgdrei and f maurer where chosen to achieve that goal. We also provided a few custom pieces of furniture to incorporate some special features, like housing a 46’’ touchscreen that displayed a modified version of our Media-Tree software. This exhibit allowed the visitors to get information about labels and musicians with the possibility to listen to their music. The back wall of the booth was covered by a large print showing an abstract mountainscape that supported the reduced crystallic style of the furniture.

Every year, MIDEM hosts a large number of live concerts and it is famous for it’s rocking parties. Austria organized a concert with Valerie, Tanz Baby! and Parov Stelar and asked Strukt to provide live visuals. We chose to give each act it’s own visual background with the goal to interpret each musical style individually.
