In 2009 Strukt was approached by the Stadtmarketing Bruneck to create their logo and the corporate design elements.
Bruneck is a town with 15.000 inhabitants in South Tyrol, northern Italy. It is the fourth-biggest town of the region and an important hub for culture and tourism. Adjacent to Bruneck is Kronplatz, a very extensive and modern ski resort in close vicinity of the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site. Besides the winter sport and climbing opportunities, Bruneck is also a city with a rich medieval heritage and the current cultural center of the eastern part of South Tyrol.
Because of the mission statement of Stadtmarketing to promote the town and to create new incentives to visit, the logo creation process began by researching different aspects of Bruneck, its history and surroundings. The tower of the medieval castle, a building which predates the foundation of the city and was first named in 1276, proofed to be a suitable symbol as it represents the long history and is the only building that is visible from nearly all parts of the city.
After presenting the design to Verena Winkler, the head of Stadtmarketing Bruneck, it was so well received by the majority of Bruneck and other high ranking officials that Strukt was asked to expand the new Corporate Design to the whole city and all their sub-organizations including the police, the public library and others. The design process is still ongoing, with many applications already in circulation and with the design manual currently being used by local design agencies to create new designs.
