In 2014 we were asked the third time in a row to design the media stage of the futurezone awards. As every year the client wanted us to create a futuristic presentation form for the nominated hightech-products and innovations. The awards show was held again at the “Halle E” in the Vienna Museumsquartier. To distinguish our work clearly from the ones of the previous years, we created something completey new.
We used a special presentation software – the computer game minecraft. The principle of the game is simple: players can build constructions out of cube-based blocks in a 3D-world in a single- or multi-player-modus. They need to discover the world, collect ressources, fight against monsters and process the blocks further. We applied the “sandbox-modus” to construct a world of sky-scrapers, forests, underground mazes and hidden rooms out of infinite ressources. In this world we placed photos and logos of the nominees. During the award ceremony we moved in real-time from place to place to present the winners.
